This blog has been started in an effort to help support the Ron Davis family during this most difficult time.
Ron was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (bone cancer) less than a month ago. He is 48 years old, has a wife, 6 kids and 5 grandkids. The youngest three kids (14, 12, 10) still live at home.
Ron's diagnosis sent a shock wave through this family! Ron has always been the sole provider, working 2 and 3 jobs to provide for his family and to keep his wife home with their kids. This tower of strength came tumbling down Sept 30th when abdominal pain sent him to the ER where a scan revealed innumerable lytic lesions on his bones. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma. The aches and pains Ron had been feeling for quite some time were not old age creeping up on him....it was a vicious disease trying to take him down!
The disease has already caused damage to many bones but the most significant being the left femur and hip. It was in great danger of breaking so an immediate surgery was necessary. A rod was placed into his femur and pins and screws placed in his hip to secure the bones. Soon he will begin radiation treatments followed by an intense regimen of chemotherapy for the next 9 weeks.
Since Ron's diagnosis he has been unable to work. Unfortunately, the mortgage, electric bill, truck payment, phone bill etc...etc..etc.. still need to be paid. He has no health insurance and was told it would be 3 months (or possibly longer) before there would be a decision made about him getting disability benefits. The costs of medication and medical treatments alone are overwhelming. He, his wife (now his full time caregiver) and their kids are now on the mercies of God's sole provision through His people. Our prayer is that Ron will get disability benefits but until then, the financial need is great! Anything you can contribute to help them through this difficult time would be greatly appreciated! Please access the "donate" button on the right side of this page to "help share the load". May God richly bless you. Please continue to pray for Ron and his family!! We serve a BIG God who can do above and beyond what we can imagine. We are praying for a miracle both physically, emotionally and financially for Ron. Thanks again for your prayers and support! I will keep this blog updated with Ron's progress.
